Day 14 of 84....Yep I'm still here!

I figured I would write once per week vs. everyday.  Life gets in the way of all of this blogging...LOL  no really!

This week didn't go as well as I wanted.  But I did get in some activity.  Back at it tomorrow!  I wish I could force myself to work out in the am, but I am up at 4:30 for work already...Can't do much earlier unless I went to sleep like NOW! (6pm).

Day 8 of 84: What a Day!

Had a big order to complete so today was free day!

Last week I stuck to tracking and working out and lost .5 lbs. better than a gain! I looked back at my week and I'll blame it on my failure to get all required water in. I'm also going to switch up workouts this week and make it a cardio week.

Day 5 of 84....I worked out for 3 hours!!!!

Yes!  I did!  3 hours so far this week!  That's so little considering that we have 168 hours in one week!  Monday's UBWO was 45 mins, Tuesday and Thursday's cardio workouts were 20 minutes each and then Wednesday's LBWO was 45 minutes, and Today's UBWO was 50.

Add it up!  180 minutes!  3 hours!   So little time that it takes to get moving.  We can all spare 3 hours out of our week to get this done, right???  Oh yeah, one more workout for this week (cardio tomorrow-20 minutes).....Yep, I did go over my goal of 3 hours but who cares!  I am going to complete one full week!

Worked my favorite body part tonight....ARMS!    Shoulder presses, shrugs, raises....Bicep curls--both regular and preacher...Triceps extensions, dips and kickbacks, Resistance band rows, wide dumbell rows, chest press, chest flyes and abdominal crunches---straight, obliques and knee lifts....Yep, I know. I am going to be sore BUT it will be worth it in the end.

Day 4 of 84.....Ha....Better late than never!

Betcha thought I gave up.....NOT!   Did a little shopping this evening so that made for a later workout. Yes I was trying to come up with every excuse in the book not to do it....BUT I have the end goal in mind.  Again, I am motivated to do this just as I was when I began this journey.....

So tonight was cardio....Did another High Intensity elliptical workout.  I know it was intense because I did the same 20 minutes that I did on Tuesday except this time, I went a little farther distance....WOOT WOOT!

This one was hard since I worked lower body yesterday...OUCH...but I did it....And I am pouring sweat right now....Ready for the hot shower, lotion, baby powder...and then my bed...well after I watch Scandal....  :)

Day 3 of 84....GET DOWN GIRL!!!

Sorry...but those who know me best KNOW that I LOVE

MUSIC!!!!!

So...in the middle of my LBWO (lower body workout) I broke it all the way down....Dancing....Shhhhh don't tell anyone!  LOL

Anyhow....did an AMAZING leg workout....Hit the hamstrings, quads, Inner and outer thighs, Glutes, Calves and Abs....Used resistance bands for all except the hamstrings...did the dreaded DEADLIFTS for those.



I know I will have jello legs tomorrow...but no pain, no gain, right???

Day 2 of 84: Feeling Motivated!

Well, here I am!  Re-energizing!  Getting motivated again!   It's day 2!

Today's workout....CARDIO!  The killer high intensity 20 minute workout!  And yes, I am sweating!!!!

Did 1.05 miles in my 20 minutes....Trying to catch my breath as I write this...but I feel great! Glad it's over though...On to the next day!!!!







WHOOPS...gotta make a slight edit to my chart here....I will alternate upper and lower body so every other week there will be two days that I do either the UBWO or the LBWO....I'll move my free day around accordingly...But it will only occur once each week....

Day 1 of 84....I can do this!

YOU PIG!

Exactly how I felt after this holiday weekend.  UGH!  Food Galore!!!!  Totally am disgusted at how I felt this morning!   Gained 1.8 lbs this week!!!!!   So with that said....

OK...Started a new challenge today.  I want to end 2012 with a bang!

Several years ago, my husband and I did the Body For Life challenge.  It is a 12 week challenge that incorporates healthy eating with an easy to follow workout regimen that will build muscle and burn fat.  I lost 25 lbs in 12 weeks the first time I did it.

I am going to PUSH myself for 5 weeks (til the end of the year) so that I can reach a short term goal that I have.  The plan is to do all 84 days though.

Day one is complete....Started at 7:28pm and ended at 8:20...Took a little longer because I did a set of abdominal exercises....

Weigh in Monday

Well, I was going to change my weigh in day to Friday but Friday is not going to work for me. Why? well I found that since I am off every Thursday and Friday, it made me keep track of my foods and all but then after Friday, all I wanted to do was eat! So I changed back to Monday....I did weigh on Friday as I was supposed to and actually was up 1.4 lbs. But weighed in again today and I had lost those pounds. I actually weighed in the exact same today as I did last Monday. Sooooo having said that, I shall stick with Monday weigh ins for now.

FYI: weight watchers smart ones are on sale at Harris Teeter through the end of the day on Tuesday (tomorrow).....so I printed off a coupon for 3.00 off of 10. Plus they are buy one get one free with one ringing up at 1.49. So I stocked up and I am ready for the week! Gonna make it a great one! Will post after my workout tonight....

Happy Tuesday!

Hello everyone!  Just checking in.  Did well today again with tracking!  Ate a meatless Tuesday up until Dinner.  Tuesday nights is our Chick FilA night so dinner was chicken strips (9) and small fries (7)....Breakfast was garden veggie omelet (3) and a banana (0), Lunch was leftover veggies from yesterday (7) and I had for snacks....Pear, banana, pomegranate seeds (Yay!  glad it's time for them again)...and smarties sweet tart rolls (did you know that two rolls is only 1 point???)

Didn't work out today.  Had lots to do tonight...Between preparing meals for tomorrow (I actually cooked ahead) and making Halloween Treats for work tomorrow, didn't make time to get my 20 minute cardio in....Boo!  But I DID stick to my tracking so I am happy.

Oh yeah, can't wait to work it out tomorrow!  Got a new song!!!

I'm Back!!!!

Hi y'all!  (in my Paula Deen Voice...)  I'm Back!

Got back on track today....It's been a while since I worked out.  Had that nasty respiratory bug...and every time I moved I felt like I was coughing up my lungs....but no more of that now!  Thank heavens....

Food wise, I decided to make this Meatless Monday.  Started the day off with a garden veggie omelet (3) and a banana (0). For lunch I had 4 trader joes Bird's nests (8) and 1/2 cup of mashed potatoes (3).  And for dinner, I had 1/2 cup of corn (2), 1 cup of Long Grain and wild Rice a Roni (5) and green beans with onions (0).  For dessert tonight I had 10 funnel cake fries (5)....So overall in the nutrition department, I did well.  Didn't even miss the meat!  Enjoyed it so much I am going to do Meatless breakfast and Lunch tomorrow and reserve my meat meal for dinner.

Got my workout on too!  Did 20 minute elliptical workout while I watched the final two parts of the Young and the Restless on my ipad....(didn't realize that my ipad sits perfectly on my elliptical display....Ahhhhh) and followed that with upper body weight lifting (my favorite).....Nothing like Trick Daddy (Let's Go) to get you hyped to lift!  Yes!

Ended my day with a hot shower.....Man I feel good!   Glad to be back....Feels great to be back!

Gonna change my weigh in day to Friday this week and see how that goes!

Miss me???

Hi everyone....just writing to let you know that it has been a long 3 weeks....Don't know what it was but that cough that I had was horrible.  Just the slightest bit of exertion caused a coughing spell.  So no exercise was done.

Plan is to get back on track tomorrow.  Gonna start slow.  Armed with everything I need.  Hopefully I can get through it without coughing myself to death but I pretty much think that its over.

Day 14/30.....Weigh In.....Uh Oh!

Well today was a dreaded weigh in.  Why?  Because I haven't worked out this week like I should have.  I have had this persistent cough for the last week that gets worse when I walk briskly, try my elliptical, etc.  So no working out.

Instead, I made sure to track EVERYTHING that went into my mouth.  Including the numerous cough drops that I had to suck on to keep from coughing my head off.

Well I stepped on my scale this morning and I am down....3 POUNDS!!!!  WAHOO!!!!!

I am still having this issue with my respiratory system so I am not sure how much activity I will get in this week.  Hopefully I am at the tail end of this.  My daughter's lasted 2 weeks....Wednesday will be one week for me but I am hoping mine doesn't last as long as hers did.

Oh and about that project I was working on????  The Lion King Cake???  I completed it and it was awesome, if I should say so myself.  See.......................

Day 11/30....Cough Cough....

Don't know what's coming over me but I have no fever, but I have a little cough....when I breathe, it makes me want to cough....Ugh....So no workout again today.  Everytime I do anything strenuous, I get these cough spells.

Hopefully this is short lived.  UGH!

Day 10/30.....Uh oh...

Didn't blog yesterday.  I was all set to get it in but got sidetracked by the news that someone that I know died as a result of a Brown Recluse spider bite.  I am still in shock!  It was less than a year ago that this guy was sitting in my kitchen eating cupcakes with his soon to be wife a daughter.  My goodness....Life is too freakin' short.   RIP Brandon.

Today...I have been in my kitchen, busy trying to get this Lion King cake done.  I will update when I can....Until then...

Day 8/30......Hakuna Matata!!!

Well after missing yesterday's workout due to a project I am working on, I was determined to get in today's workout.  After I got the baby to bed, I got to it!

Started out with a 20 minute, 1 mile trek on the elliptical.  Then proceeded to weights.

Weight workout for tonight:

  • CHEST: Chest Presses, Dumbell Flyes, and push ups 
  • HAMSTRINGS: Dead lifts...and lots of them! Legs are going to be dead tomorrow.  LOL
  • ABS:  Crunches and pelvic thrusts....(yeah, there is such a thing...LOL)
Planned workout for tomorrow....Cardio only....so that's another trek on the elliptical!  I really do love that thing! (no sarcasm...I really do!)  Feels like dancing since I keep up with my music.  So much fun...

Project I am working on?   Replicating this wonderful cake by Peggy of Peggy Does Cakes.....Working on the figures....Can I get activity points for that???  Heck it took 5 hours to sculpt Simba!  SHEESH!

WTH? Day 7/30

I put in all the work last week and I jump on the scale and I had a .4 increase in weight? WTH?
I looked back in my tracker, as it tells you to when you gain, and sorta kinda figured out what happened.
Well considering the fact that AF was here last week, I didn't compensate for that by increasing water. As a matter of fact, I drank more diet soda! Bad me!
So today starts a new week for me. I'll keep moving and increase my water and hopefully will see a big loss next week!

12:22p-Just had lunch...I'm drinking water with orange from my 24oz Tervis tumbler....boy do I feel a difference already! I have gotten fuller faster and I'm peeing lots! (yep I'm excited about that....ridding myself of the dreaded AF bloat!)

10:19pm  OMG!  Can't believe that it is almost 10:30pm and I haven't worked out yet!  I have a huge project I am working on for Saturday and I have been working on it since 7pm (after eating dinner, feeding my babes, making lunches for tomorrow, cleaning the kitchen...) OMG!  I hate to use this as an excuse but I am not even near done!  I stuck to my points TO A 'T' today and didn't use any over my daily allowance.  I also drank water ALL DAY!   I soooo wish I could get up earlier in the mornings for my workouts but I already get up at 4:30 to get myself to work on time.  Earlier???  That a'int happening!  I will try my best to get my workouts in some way or another this week.  I will have to walk during my lunch break most likely.

Day 5/30....I do know my numbers!

Yes, I do know that it should be day 4/30 BUT yesterday didn't happen....the workout that is....I did track but I didn't workout.  I think AF has me in a bitch mood....I just didn't feel like it yesterday.  Plain and simple.
But today is a new day, I am going to get the workout in EARLY since my hubby is off today....No excuses.
7:03pm
Began my workout by doing 20 minute warmup on my killer...Ahem...I meant Elliptical Trainer...LOL In said 20 minutes....well actually at about the 18th minute,




I reached ONE MILE!  Go girl!  Of course I am sweating like nobody's business but anyhoo....my garden tub awaits....But before then, I did get in some weights

  • Shoulders:  Shoulder press(5 lbs-12 reps, 8 lbs-12 reps, 12 lbs-8 reps); Lateral raises (5lbs-8 reps, 8 lbs-8 reps, 12 lbs-8 reps), Side raises (5lbs-8 reps, 8 lbs-8 reps, 12 lbs-8 reps) and Shrugs (20 lbs, 12 reps)

  • Biceps:  Reg Bicep dumbell curls (5lbs-12 reps, 8 lbs-12 reps, 12 lbs-12 reps), Preacher curls (12 lbs-12 reps)

  • Triceps: Triceps extension overhead (5 lbs-12 reps, 8 lbs-8reps, 12 lbs-8 reps) Dips: 12 reps OUCHIE!

  • Abs: Did many many reps....Kept up with the beat of Janet Jackson's LUV (see link below) ....And again I say OUCHIE!

Day 3/30: Better late than never, right???

I usually work out a little earlier than this but BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!!!!
I almost looked for an excuse as to why I couldn't work out....

  • One of the light bulbs in the rec room is out...I can't see!!!!

  • My hamstrings are stinging from dead lifts yesterday

  • My pinky finger hurts


Well I did almost use one of those excuses...I am not telling which one!  :)  But anyhoo...I worked out.  Did cardio today to give my muscles a chance to rest.  30 minutes on the elliptical...and boy did I sweat!  Wow!  Did almost 1.5 miles in 30 minutes (1.47 miles to be exact) with an average ramp level of 3....I'm tired yes but again, lets see where I am in 27 more days!



What did I consume today????

  • Breakfast:  2 oz turkey sausage (2), toast (2)

  • Lunch: Single serving doritos (4), Salad (9)--see Monday for description of contents

  • Snacks:  Turkey pepperoni 17 slices (2), unsweetened applesauce (1), 2 bananas (0) Hershey's nuggets (at work....4pts), Watermelon (0)

  • Dinner:  Ham sandwich with fries (14) and a sugar cookie (3)


Earned 8 more APs....that's 17 so far this week!  Feeling great!

Day 2/30: Rickey Smiley Show or Workout????

Tonight is the premiere of The Rickey Smiley show....Who is this dude??? One of the funniest comedians on Earth!  Love him.  But he's not more important than my goal!  Soooooo DVR to the rescue!!!!  In the meantime....

Day 2/30: Ha!  Thought I gave up, huh???  Not a chance!  Just finished my workout.  Did a 15 minute warmup using Beat Burn Elliptical App....and I accomplished 1 mile in about 13 minutes!!!!  Woot Woot!  But I tell you, I wanted to curse that nice little lady out as she pushed me through the 15 minute workout!  Sheesh!

Afterwards, I did a weight workout.  Worked my favorite part SHOULDERS!!!  Also did Biceps, Triceps and hamstrings...DEADLIFTS ARE A BEAST!  Did an ab workout to end it all.

DAMN I FEEL GOOD (at least right now I do....tomorrow, OMG!  Will be so sore!  But no pain no gain, right?)  It's always the hardest to get it started but once it's done, you feel great!


FOOD EATEN AND TRACKED:
Breakfast:  Pepperoni egg puff (3), toast (2), banana (0)
Mid morning snack:  Boiled egg (2)
Lunch:  Salad (see previous entry for contents) (9), Serving of doritos (4), Hershey's nugget candy bars (7) (Why do so many people deliver candy to dental offices??? SMDH!)
Afternoon snack: Honeycrisp apple (0)
Dinner: Chick FilA Chargrilled Sandwich (7), Chick FilA fries-small (8), and for the sweets afterwards 1/2 serving of gummy bears (2)

So I used 44 points....Went into my extras but I'd rather do that early on in the week rather than later.  Earned 9APs....

The first picture is at my heaviest...The middle pic as well as the one to the extreme right are today's shots...to document me at the beginning of the challenge.


And one of my friends posted a split of her face today on facebook before and then after she has lost more than 50lbs. What a difference!!!  So I thought i'd do the same....

Day 1/30: Thanks Ced! :)

Ok...blogging twice in one day....WTH???  LOL
A college friend, Ced, is also doing WW.  Over the past month, he has been tracking, exercising and sharing his successes.  This dude has dropped like 25 lbs in one month!!!!  AMAZING!  WW works y'all if you just put in the work!
Having said that, I am going to start VALERIA'S 30-DAY CHALLENGE!  During this challenge, I will list my activities, my foods and just share my feelings and concerns about this journey.  So here goes....
Day One:  I have already eaten a large Honeycrisp apple (0), 1 Banana (0), Turkey Sausage (2), Toast (2) and a serving of Doritos (4).  Last night I made an awesome salad (well I made 5--for the week, of course).  This salad has Romaine (0), Spinach (0), tomatoes (0), cucumbers (0)--a sliver since I don't really care for them, 1T Pumpkin Seeds (1), 2oz Boars Head turkey (2), 1T cheese (1), 1T Real Bacon Bits (1), and will serve with 2T Naturally Fresh Lite Ranch (2).  Dessert will be No sugar added applesauce.  I have drank 1 1/2 bottles of water already today as well.  Remaining snacks include another large apple and another large banana and of course, more water.  Not sure about dinner yet.  I will have 18 points left so I think I might have another Salad and save some points for dessert!  Gotta have my SHOOGA!  LOL
12:47pm--OK...The devil totally tried to get me.  I ate my lunch and had 35 minutes to spare.  I could have sat on my ass and played around on my ipad...but I decided instead to WALK!!!!   Seemed like I ran it though since I had no idea how long it would take me to walk the distance I wanted.  Music definitely made it enjoyable as well as the fact that its cool out.  AND I have 10 minutes to spare before having to see my next patient.  Whoop Whoop!

6:26pm. Just ate dinner. Roasted chicken leg (4), zucchini (0), wild rice (4), roll (2), mini doughnuts (6)...I have 2 points remaining! I'm gonna totally do this. Taking day 1/30 pics tonight.

I've Failed????

Well at least that's how I felt when I got on the scale this am. I've gained a little, but I know why.  Ate out towards the end of the week last week for hubby's birthday and then really celebrated it yesterday.  It was a special day being that it was the FIRST time that he has ever had a birthday party.  And it was even more special since he has been ill.  All organized by his mom and grandmother, my task was making his cake.  Carrot Cake!  OMG!  It was good!  I only had one piece but I am sure even in that small piece, there was a million points!!!  Nah, not a million but many.  Also ate other things as well.  I didn't track yesterday or since Thursday as a matter of fact so I am content with what I saw today.  It's my fault.  Today is a new day.  I am committed to getting to my goal! 

As stated in the last blog post, I am totally slacking in the blogging department.  That, too helps keep me accountable.  So my goal this week is:  TO TRACK EVERYTHING!!!  GET MY EXERCISE IN and TO BLOG!

It's a new week!

While I haven't strayed too far away from the plan, I have lost and gained about 4 lbs over and over in the last month.  WHY???  Lack of tracking!  and Lack of activity!!!!  

Am I disappointed?  Well yes and no....Yes because I gained....NO because it's only 4 lbs (technically I can lose that in a week....) and NO because I know what I need to do and should have been doing and didn't.  So I am paying the consequence.

I'm ready to get back in it THIS WEEK!  My goal is to get in some activity whether it be 10 minutes or 90 minutes....I have to get moving!  AND I will track everything that goes into my mouth!

I can do this!  OPERATION BACK ON TRACK starts NOW!

GET MOVING!


Totally getting back on track!   Gotta do it!  Plus at 50 lbs lost, I get a new ipad!  :)  Goal for the week....ACTIVITY!!!!

Well dangit....I MADE IT!!!

Never ever ever did I think that I could finally stick to a New Year's Resolution.  But I underestimated myself.  I am soooo proud of my accomplishments this last year.  Once I drilled into my head that Weight Watchers IS NOT A DIET, it became easy...almost like a game!  As soon as you realize that you can eat the foods you love, the goal becomes more achievable.

BUT

It takes WORK!   Measuring, counting, logging.....If you are not willing to do the work, sticking to this will be difficult...

Well.....

This time last year, I weighed in at 263 lbs.  Today, My weight was 221.8!  I have lost more weight than my daughter weighs (she is 32 lbs...I have lost 41.2) It is just amazing to feel how heavy she seems and then think about the fact that I have lost more than that.





I survived the holidays.....gaining 3.3 lbs.

I am proud of the way I look and the way I feel.  I can't wait to see what 2012 has in store for me!  I WILL HIT ONEDERLAND!!!!!
