Shopping for the Usher concert...

Went shopping again today and boy is this getting fun! Buying smaller sizes...being directed out of the plus size section because a size 14 or large dress isn't considered plus...this feels damn good!

Weigh In Monday!!!!!


Well after yesterday, I was afraid that this week would be a gain. Mama cooked everything I think she had in her cupboard and fridge! And thank heavens I saved my last 30 daily points as well as my 40+ weeklies for that. I ate until I was stuffed! I noticed that I got fuller faster too!

Well anyhow, I lost another 1.5 lbs! I am totally excited! Maybe...just maybe I will go buy something cute for the Usher concert this weekend. Hmmmmmm.

Ticker Update!


Wow!  I am actually 38 lbs away from goal and 47 lbs down from my highest weight!  I actually can visualize achieving that goal!  Can't wait!

Trip to Trader Joes.....

I've  been to TJs a million times in the past but today was the first day that I REALLY took a good look around and I DID find some great buys.....

Breaded Chicken Breasts
Thanks to Marisa (Loserforlife), I was on the search for these. I got them.  They are a great size and with some Texas Pete, made an awesome Buffalo Chicken Breast!  Loved it....But for the price, I don't think I will get these again. (3PP)

Chinese Chicken and Vegetable Dumplings
I love Chinese and I haven't really had any since starting WW. But these little dumplings caught my eye.  Not to happy with the sodium content (probably the sauce).  Will definitely be dinner one night this week along with some rice.  (6 dumplings 4PP)

Seafood Blend
I LOVE seafood.  Especially Calamari!  When I saw this bag of yummy goodness, I couldn't resist.  Might be using up some extras to fry these puppies up!  (2 PP/serving)


Sesame Honey Cashews
I saw these and I KNEW I had to have them.  I asked the cashier to give me a sec to figure up the points.  He was nice to allow me that quick sec!  Well I bought them and I DID taste one.  OMG!  YUMMY!  (1 serving (30 g)=5PP)

Reduced Fat Fish Sticks
Again, I love fish....I have been thinking of trying fish sticks with Maya to give her a little bit of variation in her diet as well.  So when I saw these, I said, "why not now!"  (6 sticks 6PP)


Mini Baguettes
I didn't realize how much I didn't NEED to eat bread with every meal but I do indulge every now and then.  These are really a nice size!  (1 baguette=3 PP)

Eggplant Garlic Spread
I LOVE me some Olive Tapenade on top of bread.  BUT it much more fattening than this stuff.  And I am sure its PP expensive!  So I will give this a try.  I LOVE eggplant and I LOVE me some garlic.  Can't wait to try this with that baguette!  (1T=1 PP)

I got a few other things like liquid egg whites (0 PP) and some Strawberry Yogurt with Probiotics (2PP) as well as some yummy cantaloupe (0 PP).  I'll let you know how it all tastes as I eat it!

Battle of the scale....LITERALLY! It's Weigh in Monday....

Imagine my reaction when I stepped on the scale and it said "235.5"


My actual response????  "NO SHIT!"  Yeah, I said it.  Then I was like, "Uh, no way." so of course I step down and step back up and it says, "236.5" then I step off and back on again and it says "237" so I just shake my head and get back on and it says "236" then the LO flashes...The batteries are low....WHEW!

So I changed the batteries got back on and it said "236.5", got off and back on a few times and it remained "236.5." so that's it!!!!!   236.5!


So you know what this means????


I totally can't be more excited.  I am getting closer and closer to goal!  WAHOO!!!!!

(I know my baby thinks her mommy is crazy but yes, I am jumping around like a fool!---activity points????  LOL)

But I have lost a daily food point....Started at 42, now I am at 38....This is getting interesting....

Another milestone tomorrow?

If I lose at least 1.8 lbs tomorrow, I will have hit my 10% goal!  I want that SOOOO bad I can taste it!  Keeping fingers crossed for a good weigh in tomorrow morning!

What's one week?

When Jennifer Hudson thought about giving up on WW her first week, her leader pleaded with her to just "give the program ONE WEEK....Follow the points exactly, get in some activity and after that week, if you still feel like giving up then do."  Those weren't the exact words but that's essentially what she said.

She gave it ONE WEEK!  And look at her now!  Amazing.

Why is Weight Watchers so easy?

Because I can eat the same foods as I did Pre WW. If I had to buy prepackaged food, or eat nasty diet food, I would have failed by day two!

This is such a lifestyle change. It has taught me how to eat! Yes I still eat junk food! I love baking so I have such easy access to cake batter, cake and cookies! But I control what I eat. I still eat McDonalds but I have a hamburger kids meal instead of a Big Mac meal. I LOVE me some Bojangles....But instead of the chicken sandwich combo, I eat either a ham biscuit or chicken tenders.

Who'd a thunk it? Succeeding and still eating the foods I like....

Weigh In Monday!

Well it's weigh in Monday and I lost the 1.5 lbs that I gained last week! I exercised more and watched my points closer. I did all of this AND had a cake tasting on Saturday! And baked cookies last night for a co worker!

Lessons learned:

1. Exercise is sooooo important-even if its dancing, or running in the park,
2. Nutrition has to be on point
3. I CAN show restraint when it comes to junk food!

I am loving the new WW points plus plan!

I MADE IT!!!!

Totally got through a wedding cake tasting today without over doing it.  I totally DID eat just a sliver of cake today but I am amazed at the restraint that I am able to practice being that I bake ALL THE TIME!  YAY ME!

Weigh In Monday....4/4/11

AND I gained 1.5 lbs!  I guess I can thank my Mama's home cooking for that!  And the fact that I OD'd on Coke Zero!  But I am okay with that.  I know what I did.  And I shall not repeat that.

I am back on track as of today and will lose those 1.5 lbs plus some next week!  On to the next....

It feels GREAT!

....to actually be on the receiving end of a compliment!  I felt smaller today (especially since I was rockin' some of my mom's jeans.)  I feel like I did great as far as food goes but only the scale will tell...in the morning!  I hope I have at least lost .5 lbs for a total loss of 25.  We shall see!

I went shopping today!

......in my mother's closet! Wow! I can't believe that I can actually wear size 18 jeans...some 16s. I'm walking away with 5 pairs of jeans, 2 skirts-one of which is size 14- and a pair of capris. I am totally happy!

There's no place like home!

Well I am at home this weekend....when I say home, I mean AT HOME!  WHERE MY MAMA COOKS!  This isn't the first time since starting WW.  I've done well the last few times I have been here.  BUT THE SMELLS OF BREAKFAST?  OMG!  Grits, eggs, bacon (2 kinds), buttered toast, sausage??? WOW!

What did I have?  Grits, eggs, sausage and toast....grand total????  11 pts.  Not too bad.  Wasn't even tempted to indulge anymore.  I am ready for the challenge of staying on track!
